Truth, Lies, and Everything in Between
Why your head started fogging up the moment you finally landed
Fog in your head, trouble concentrating, sudden disconnection, anxiety that arrives out of nowhere, and you are not sure whether it happened because the world went crazy or because something is wrong with you. Gili Man Wolner says these are not random symptoms but a sign that the nervous system is asking to relax, that the soul is asking to breathe. She recognizes a pattern in it that has kept repeating since 2020: the pandemic, October 7, and now another war, and every time we are asked to do the same thing all over again. The real war is not being fought on the battlefield. It is being fought over our attention.

The One Person Who's Always There: You
The same fight, the same feeling, the same moment when you come apart, over and over, as if life insists on repeating itself. Most of the time it isn't accidental. According to Gili Man Wolner, what runs it is a childhood story, a small trauma or a big one, that turned without our noticing into a belief that dictates how we react today. The subconscious loves what is familiar even when it hurts, and that is why it is so hard to break the cycle. The question is not how to escape the pattern, but how to learn to love the part of you that is still holding on to it.

Can You Bend Reality?
You react to the same kind of event over and over, and it feels like life is just happening to you and you have no say in it. Gili takes a different approach: every event, even the hardest one, is a reflection of a belief sitting inside you, and the opportunity is to clear it, not just to react to it. There's no need to wait for life to prove to you that you deserve something good before you believe it. Belief comes before reality, not the other way around. And the way she sees it, this isn't only on the emotional level: she explains that your thoughts and your feelings reach all the way down to the body's chemistry, and affect what actually happens to you.

A Sensitive Man: The Cost of Avoiding Emotions
You do everything right. Every time, you decide all over again that this time it's going to be different, and somehow you end up in exactly the same place. The way Gili sees it, that isn't chance and it isn't bad luck. It's the subconscious that was formed by the time you were seven, and out of all the options in front of you it keeps choosing only the ones it already knows. The feelings you pushed down along the way didn't disappear either. They piled up, and that's exactly what comes out later as pressure and anxiety. And even when things are hard right now, there's a good chance all of it is heading somewhere else entirely.

Healthy Soul, Healthy Body
You can eat the healthiest food in the world and still get cancer
You can eat the cleanest food there is, drink nothing but green juice, do everything exactly right, and still find out that something in your body has broken down. According to Gili, health is not decided only on the plate but in the emotional system behind it: anger, grief or frustration that never get expressed do not disappear. They settle into a specific organ and weaken it. There is even a syndrome in which an emotional crisis produces symptoms in the body that are identical to a heart attack. The question is not only what you eat, but what you do with what you feel.

Thought Creates Reality
The same thoughts come up all day and you're sure they're yours
You don't really choose every thought that runs through your head. Somewhere between 60,000 and 70,000 thoughts pass through us in a single day, and from what Gili lays out here, most of them aren't ours. They're an old memory trying to come back, or worry about something that hasn't happened yet. Who is running that thought, and how do you know whether it belongs to you? The question gets both a scientific backdrop here and an explanation from the Hasidic world. And at least one of them offers a practical answer: stop stating facts and start asking questions.

Can We Tame Our Emotions?
You know exactly what the right thing to do is, and you still find yourself doing exactly the opposite. According to Gili, this isn't about a lack of knowledge or a lack of self-discipline. It's emotion taking the wheel, the same way it works in animals, through an ancient mechanism of fight, flight and freeze. Even completely ordinary people, with no troubled background at all, can find themselves in a single moment doing something they would never have believed they were capable of. The real question isn't what you do when you're in control of yourself. It's what happens inside you the moment that control disappears.

What Really Shapes Our Lives?
You're right back in the same situation, the same kind of partner, the same fight, the same feeling of "here it is, happening to me again". As Gili presents it, that's no accident. Our subconscious remembers everything from the moment we were born, it's constantly trying to repeat itself, and so, without noticing, we're drawn to situations we already know. Even your least logical reaction in a tense moment belongs to a five- or six-year-old child who is still at the wheel. Once you look at that straight on, you can start changing direction.
