His teaching of mirrors came long before modern technology and New Age approaches to soul healing.
In its simplest form, the teaching says there is nothing outside us. Everything is projected from within, and each of us is responsible for the reality we encounter. If I want something in the physical world to change, I have to start by changing something within myself. Reality, in other words, is a projection of the subconscious. Changing my physical reality begins with cleansing my subconscious.
The Baal Shem Tov gave us one of the greatest powers anyone can have: the power to gain control over reality.
With that power came responsibility, and he placed it squarely in our hands.
