Episode notes

From The Truth Hurts (HaEmet Ko’evet): How to Be Happy? By Gili Man Wolner, Emotional Healer

How can you be happy? Start by recognizing that your happiness is in your hands. No one else can do it for you.

Take responsibility for your life and your feelings, and pay attention to the story you keep telling yourself. What is that story? Question it. Change the story, and use more positive language when you talk to yourself.

What this episode explores

We each write the script of our own lives. Picture a cheerleading squad in your head, cheering you on.

Enjoy the journey, not just the destination. Don’t postpone happiness until you reach a particular goal. Be present now.

Good things take time, and we need patience and faith (emunah) to see deliverance and the full process. Hold on to that faith even during a crisis, trusting that deliverance will come.

Part of happiness is releasing anger and forgiving others so that we can receive forgiveness and love in return. Positive thoughts matter, too. By changing our thoughts, we can change our feelings and our reality.

The episode ends with a practical exercise: make a list of the actions and situations that made you happy in the past. Then use what you learn to bring that happiness back into your life now.

About the podcast

Listening to The Truth Hurts feels like sitting in on a healing session.

The truth can hurt. It’s right there in the name. But we’re not here to cause pain. Quite the opposite.

In each episode, two women sit down for an honest conversation: an Emotional Healer and her client.

We talk about healing and consciousness, faith and science, the body and soul, personal growth, energy, and different approaches to healing. Above all, we face the truth no one says out loud: everything around us is upside down.

Is this podcast for you?

  • You want to hear the truth, and you’re ready to face it. (Yes, those are two different things.)
  • You want to gain insight and improve your quality of life.
  • You want to make a change.
  • You want a deeper understanding of the laws of the universe.
  • You want to live a healthy life in body and soul.

You don’t need any prior knowledge. You only need the desire to explore a wide range of ideas and discover practical guidance for living.
